Tuscany 2013, just one click away…

Are you thinking of summer while watching the snow fall? Are you dreaming of hiking in the mountains? Enjoying the sun and the smell of lavender? Breathing in the fresh air or strolling through a medieval city while cooling off with a “gelato”? That’s what a holiday in Tuscany is all about!

Tuscany country

Whether you’re dreaming of a cultural or folkloric holiday, or a holiday among nature, Tuscany is the perfect destination for your summer holiday 2013.

When you say Tuscany, people usually say Florence. Here, culture lovers can indulge themselves. In the Uffici Museum you will find a collection of the greatest artists of all times, like Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Botticelli and many more. Visit Duomo Santa Maria del Fiore or stroll across the famous Ponte Vecchio. Don’t forget to visit Siena, Florence’s smaller brother, where you can relax on the Piazza del Campo or be overwhelmed by the mystical Duomo di Siena. There’s no lack of charming cities in this region!

Home to the Apennine Mountains, nature lovers will also enjoy a holiday in Tuscany. Go for a challenging - or less challenging - hike in the mountains, where you can admire the flora and fauna. Taste the products of Mother Nature, like the olives, grapes and accompanying wines.

In this part of Italy traditions are still alive! Take part in one of the folkloric events and travel back to the time of the Middle Ages. Watch the knights trying to defeat the Saracen during Giostra del Saracino in Arezzo or attend Bravio delle Botti in Montepulciano, where an 80 kilo barrel has to be rolled down the main street. Furthermore, every event is preceded by a colorful costume procession.
