When you come to Tuscany, wine tasting needs to be on the agenda.
A great way to taste many different Tuscan wines is to join one of the educative tastings offered by the Tuscan Wine Schools. The tastings are scheduled every day and are designed to suit everyone from the beginner in Italian wines to the savvy taster.
The tastings are held inside the “classrooms” of the wine schools and during 1 or 2 hrs you could learn all sorts of things from how to taste, how to read the Italian wine label, the main Italian grape varietals, the main Tuscan wines, etc.
All the educational part is done by a wine prof of the school in good English with the support of a powerpoint presentation and, of course, with the illustrative examples of great wines such as Barolo, Chianti Classico, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Brunello di Montalcino and Super Tuscans. The tastings are always accompanied by bread & good olive oil, a slice of cheese and a piece of chocolate.
