Flowers Exhibition in Florence
Even this year the Tuscan Society of Horticulture, established in the 1854, organize in Florence an exhibition of plants and flowers from 25th of April to the 1st of May 2013. About 60 exhibitors and plants producers coming mainly from Tuscany, but from other Italian regions as well will take part to the event. The main character will be the flowers, plants but even biological products and handcrafted goods will have their visibility.
Among the new products of 2013, it will be possible admiring carnivorous plants, lavenders, grasses family plants for collections, some variety of antique or particularly fruits plants (our preferred one is “Buddha’s Hand”) and other few types of plants and pots.
To be highlighted: the 25th of April, the opening day, the mayor of Florence will attend the launch of the new Tepidario of Roster, which its renovation has just been completed. It’s the symbol of the Garden of Horticulture, and the exhibition “Il giadino dell’arte. Acquerelli botanici della scuola di Maria Rita Stirpe” will be organized inside it.
During your visit you will be overcome by colours and fragrances while walking around one of the most beautiful gardens of Florence. Our preferred choices are the orchids, the incredible numbers of varieties of roses, the fruits plants, but even discovering the aromas of plants usually used in the kitchen for cooking.
It will not be possible to avoid buying stuff if you have gardens or a small empty space in your terrace. After the success of the edition in autumn, the most important Florentine flowers shows will be held again in spring.
The new loving nature approach of the society allowed the developing of the exhibition in the past years. Now it has his own “home” in the Garden of Horticulture, which is a step far head compared to what was before, just a walk through stands from a square to another in Florence, in particularly from Piazza Santa Croce to Piazza SS Annunziata.
Our advice is just to take an unforgettable walk through this coloured and scented garden. The walk is perfect to spend 2-3 hours of relaxing and romantic moments. Relatives, couples, friends, kids and dogs will appreciate this enchanting garden.
Just a friendly advice: go with a “light” wallet, because even if the prices are not too much expensive, the flowers and plants are simply awesome and you will be tempted to buy something at each stand.
Near the Garden of Horticulture you will find ice-cream shops, sandwiches shops and pizzeria.
The entrance is free of charge, from 9.00 to 19.30. Gate is in Via Vittorio Emanuele II, 4 and in Via Bolognese, 17. Special parking agreement with Parterre parking: a coupon will be available at the Società Toscana di Orticultura stand.
